Fancy Cut Gate Fold Card

I can’t believe that it is February.  This year I have made it a goal to attempt to share projects on my blog once or twice a week.  I am really proud of myself as I started off really well.  Robbie from www.creationsinpaper.com and I started the year by sharing 12 Days of Valentine’s.  Yes, I posted every day!! Hip hip hooray!  We have been also doing a Fancy Fold exclusive tutorials to all our club members.  It’s called the 12 Weeks of Sale-a-bration, which began on  January 6th and although it uses all the amazing FREE items from Stampin’ Up (minimum order is needed), it is intended to inspire and teach you new fancy fold techniques.

Fancy Cut Gate Fold Card

So I am going to give you a sneak peak of the first week.  It is a simple version, if you want the step up version than be sure to join my Creative Crafter’s Club to get the tutorial in the library.  Today I am showing you a fancy Gate Fold with a twist of a fancy cut border.  I am going to call it Fancy Cut Gate Fold card.

Fancy Cut Gate Fold Card

To begin…

You will need some Whisper White card stock.  I used the Stampin’ Trimmer to cut an angle on the gate fold.  I wanted this card to be bright, bold and fun so I decided to play around with the Lemon Lime Twist ink and Berry Burst Classic ink pad.  The Hello Cupcake stamp set worked perfectly for this vibrant card.

To end this…

Use the Layered Circle Framelits to cut out the cupcake.  Now I know what you are thinking why didn’t I layer the circle with the Berry Burst card stock.  I found that adding a larger circle beneath the cupcake circle would take away the elegance of the Happy Birthday that was stamped on the gate fold card.  So I pulled a stampers trick.  I took the Whisper White cupcake circle and I sponged around the circle with the Berry Burst Classic ink pad.  Once all the pieces were complete I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to put the card together.
