Did you know that one sheet of designer sheet of paper can make about fourteen cards?\u00a0 Yes! Depending on how you cut a sheet of 12 X 12 designer series paper, you can get about 10-16 cards.\u00a0 Now that is one way of getting the most out of your designer series paper.\u00a0 If you would use all the sheets this way you could make roughly 150 cards. This technique is called the one sheet wonder and it is great to maximize your paper with no waste.<\/p>\n

With this technique, the goal is to use the entire Designer Series Paper with as little waste as possible.<\/p>\n

When I looked online, there were many ideas for how to cut the piece to make as many cards as possible. I love all of the ideas that I saw, but decided to try my hand at making my own template. As you can see from the pdf template below, I have no waste.<\/p>\n

So you can either draw out your template, or use someone else’s template. Then you need to decide if you will be using Designer Series Paper or create your own background on some cardstock.<\/p>\n

Before I started anything else, I actually cut the designer series paper and randomly laid them out on some card front sized paper.\u00a0 \u00a0I wanted to see what to do with the pieces,\u00a0 the possible layouts, and how many cards I would be able to get out of it. I kind of had an idea of how I wanted my layouts to be from when I designed my template.<\/p>\n

Once, I’m happy with the layouts, I then start putting my cards together.<\/p>\n

This technique can be a little time consuming, but it is so great when you finish and have several cards done.<\/p>\n

Here are the different card layouts that I did with my cut pieces. There are so many options of what you can do with this technique.<\/p>\n
